Meet Our A-Team
Christine Broeg — Office Manager/Scheduling Coordinator
I’ve lived in Mt. Pleasant for 28 years with my husband, Jeff. I enjoy reading, hanging out with friends and family, traveling, and going to see our three children. I welcomed my first grandchild in August 2017 – he’s such a doll!
I am the first person you see when you walk in to OAI! I enjoy taking your phone calls, scheduling appointments, answering all of your questions, and meeting new people. I have been with Dr. Kaci C. Vela since OAI opened in January 2016 and am loving the ortho world! Working both with her and our team has been very rewarding. My favorite thing about ortho is getting to know our patients. Seeing their confidence soar as they get the smile they desire is very exciting!
Erica Pickle — Treatment Coordinator/Financial Coordinator
I’ve been married to my husband, Kevin, for 20 years. We have two sons, Logan and Boden. As a family we enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and hanging out on the Skunk River. I love going for long walks and spending time with my mom and sisters shopping.
I have worked with my husband at our business, Advanced Radiator Inc. since we opened in 1995. I was looking for a part-time job, it was by pure luck that I found out about Dr. Kaci C. Vela from a friend who mentioned she was looking for a treatment coordinator and she thought I would love Dr. Kaci C. Vela and the job. She was RIGHT! I have been working with Dr. Kaci C. Vela since September 2016. I love coming to work! My co-workers are all wonderful, we have such a great working relationship and friendship!
Brianna “Bri” NELSON — CNA, Orthodontic Assistant
I recently got married to the love of my life, Kyle! We have two Golden Retrievers, Copper and Carly, who keep us busy. We spend most of our time renovating our house and spending time with friends and family. We also like to go four-wheeling and the dogs love to chase us!
Before working for Dr. Kaci C. Vela I was working as a CNA, I was looking to further my life and career in a different profession. I love working at OAI because I learn more every day and also get to meet new people and help put a beautiful smile on their face! I also help in sterilization to ensure all of our instruments here at DSI are completely sterilized for all of our patients and doctors. I hope to continue learning and become the best Ortho Assistant I can be for OAI!
mackenzie stewart — Orthodontic assistant
I’m from Ottumwa, IA. I love spending my free time with my family and my son, Hayden. I am also very active in my church and recently got baptized! Before OAI, I worked with little kids from troubled homes and the mentally disabled. I absolutely love it here at OAI because of the friendly atmosphere and the dedication and compassion we all share for all of our patients!”
Katie Phillips — Orthodontic assistant
After being a military wife and moving around a lot, my husband and I finally settled in Mount Pleasant, IA! We have a beautiful daughter, Joanna, and our lives would not be complete without our dog, Russell. We love living in the Mount Pleasant community and can’t think of a better place to raise our daughter!
I completed my degree in business management and had many jobs moving around so much. I am happy to say I have found a permanent fit with OAI. I love that OAI goes above and beyond for our patients and their families. I hope to continue my skills and grow with the team!
Cala Leonard, CNA — Orthodontic Assistant
I live in Fairfield, IA with my husband, Jerred and our dog, Toby. My husband and I got married on May 27, 2017! We spend most of our weekends with our family and friends. We love going camping and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes!
Before DSI I worked as a CNA for 7 years. I loved my job and my residents, but was looking to learn new things and try out a new field! I love working in the central core sterilization room because I get to meet and talk to all of the specialty dental practices that come to DSI. I have made some wonderful new friends and can’t wait to see what my future at DSI holds for me!
